Anyway, HI!

Spent the past few days marathoning SPN and typing up SEVENTY-FIVE PAGES (!!!) of notes detailing every single viddable scene.

Yeah, I'm insane.

But, I now have a nice reference to look at when I'm outlining my vids so that I can actually, you know, PLAN my vids and not spend countless hours scanning through episodes and wasting valuable editing time. If I ever get around to actually categorizing the scenes and putting the notes into any sort of format that can be read and understood by people other than me I will definitely share it with all of my fellow SPN vidders/graphic makers.

I'm helping estrella30 organize the vidshow for winchestercon (YAY!) so I really REALLY need to get my ass in gear and actually FINISH the vid I hope to premiere at the con (so if I suddenly disappear from LJ for days at a time you'll know why).

I'm SO excited about this vid you guys, seriously. ( Cut for vid babble... )


It's been discussed to death by everyone in the past few days but since I haven't been on LJ I haven't had a chance to comment on it yet. How frigging awesome are the new SPN promo pics? I mean really.

The pic of Jared and Jensen leaning against the wall while *thisclose* to each other made my panties explode, for serious. They're practically BEGGING us to slash them.

I think I need to make myself a shiny new wallpaper :-)


I really need to post about the SPN DVD extras and my thoughts on some S2 spoilers, but since I know I'll end up typing up a fucking NOVEL about both of these things I think I'll save them for another day.

I had a huge backlog of vids sitting on my harddrive that I finally got around to watching today, so I have some recs for you guys:


"Feeling Good" by martoufmarty (Sam-centric)

Every part of this vid is sheer brilliance. Most definitely one of the best SPN vids I've ever seen. Perfect timing, kickass internal motion, and just generally awesome.


"Too Sick to Pray" by halcyon_shift (John-centric)

SO much love for this vid! It is by FAR the best Papa Winchester vid there is. I had chills from beginning to end.


"Hangin' Tough" by mkitty3 (comedy/action)

Yes, that's right. "Hangin' Tough". By New Kids on the Block. I feel like I'm 9 years old again! The timing of every single moment is completely perfect and the vid itself unbelievably hilarious. Definitely a keeper!


"Sweetest Perfection" by angstslashhope (gen)

A really kickass season 1 recap vid. It's like a whole bunch of mini-episodic vids all rolled into one!


"You're My Baby" by wistful_fever (RPS)

It's a J-SQUARED vid!!! By wistful_fever, yo! And it's ridiculously awesome! If you haven't seen it already, go now!

And check out "It's Been Awhile" while you're there too. Not only because it's MAYHEM/PADDYWHACK (!!!), but because it's one of the most interesting and original vids I've ever seen.



Also, I just want to say a big huge THANK YOU to whoever nominated me for The Lawrence Awards! You have no idea how much that means to me. *feels loved*


Oooh, and guess what I found in my mailbox today? An autographed picture of JENSEN ACKLES!!! It was so long ago that I don't even remember where I found the info in the first place (I'm assuming some SPN comm or message board), but if you send an email to jensenackles@studiofanmail.com with your address, they'll just send you an autographed pic of him for free! I emailed them in March and had actually completely forgotten about it, but yeah, in my mailbox, today, HOTASS signed pic of Jensen (and dudes, he even has STUBBLE!). *drools*

Yay! I've lost almost SIX POUNDS since I started my diet 10 days ago! *dances*


In other news, drop what you're doing and go watch wistful_fever's new Harry Potter vid. It's GORGEOUS and deep and haunting and perfect in every single way.

Hands down, the best vid I have ever seen in any fandom ever. I've watched it about 20 times since she posted it on Sunday and I get chills every single time. Really, I cannot stress enough how mind blowingly awesome this video is.

So what are you waiting for? Go watch it now!

"Getting Away With Murder" by existentialism

It's based on the episode "Skin", and, I know you're thinking: "Haven't there been like 1000 Skin vids already?" And yes, there have, but this one is truly a cut above the rest.

Excellent attention to beats (and I mean EXCELLENT--there is literally something happening on EVERY beat!), really cool effects, and just generally a very well put together and exciting vid. So go watch it, and leave Jake some feedback if you liked it!

"Kill It" by wistful_fever ("Supernatural", Dean/Sam).

This is EASILY the best "Supernatural" vid I've ever seen (and it's definitely in the top 5 of best vids I've seen, period). It is hauntingly beautiful, dark, angsty, and just awesome. It has more depth than I would have ever imagined possible in a fanvid. wistful_fever vids so perfectly, it's more like she's choreographing a dance rather than simply editing together a video. There's a great motion to the clips, everything is right on the beats and it flows perfectly from scene to scene. Simply stunning in every single way. Especially towards the end as the music and emotion build to incredible intensity.

Go watch it now. It's amazing! And leave feedback ;-)

(And wistful_fever, I know I only left a short comment, but I promise more in-depth feedback is forthcoming--I just need/want to watch the vid a few dozen more times so I can hit every awesome point!)


OK, I just need to make it through 4 more hours of work before a three day weekend...I can do this...*breathes*

It's been horrifically busy at work these past few days. I would have given anything to have been able to call in sick today but there was absolutely no way. Somehow that makes having to go to work even worse, even though I rarely call in sick (well, I do about once a month, but that's not TOO bad), I like having the option there if I need it. And today I just don't have that option. I don't have any more sick days left until the new year starts and today is my last shift before January 1st so if I missed today I wouldn't get my stat holiday pay (which I desperately need). *grumble*
