I actually had a conversation with a woman the other day that went like this:

Dumbass: Does my password use small letters or big letters?
Me: They should be lower case.
Dumbass: ...you mean small?
Me: Yes.
Dumbass: ...OK, the letters are small, but the numbers are big. Does that matter?
Me: *shoots self in face*

I also had to explain what the @ symbol was to someone. And when I was finally able to dumb it down enough for her to understand she said: "OH! You mean a capital two!?"

And I swear, if I get one more person who can't figure out where (or even what) the fucking address bar is and insists on typing URLs into Google search I'm going to lose my freaking mind.


But...some good news! I was finally able to communicate to my supervisor just how much the phones are driving me slowly mad, so he put me on CHAT SUPPORT! OMG it's SO much better than phone support it's not even funny! I don't have to make stupid small talk with people, I don't need to pretend to be cheerful, it's mostly a lot of copying and pasting and waiting around for peole to follow instructions.

Plus, it's very neutral and people can't yell at me! Well, I suppose they could CAPSLOCK at me if they really wanted to, but that would just make me laugh at them. Plus, the people who actually use the chat support generally have at least a little bit of technical knowledge and are usually able to follow simple instructions.

I've been doing chat support for two days and already my stress level is lower than it's been in months!

On an unrelated note, I just watched the "Drive" pilot and it was frigging AWESOME (has it even aired in the US yet? I don't think it has, so I won't post anything spoilery yet.)! Now I have a...*counts*...fifth fandom that has hotass brothers in it for me to slash!



I'm so excited, I have pretty much everything all set for my trip to Chicago for vividcon!

I already have my plane ticket, the hotel room is reserved, I have roomies, my vacation has been approved. I just need to get my freaking Club Vivid vid done before May 8th (!!!) so I can start working on my Vividcon premiere vid. *tears out hair*

K, so that kinda turned into more of a picspam than a review, but whatever, it's all good (I might do a better review later, you know, using actual WORDS, but I might not).

Man, I REALLY need to get vidding. I am just DYING to do a Wincest vid. Because seriously, how have I NOT done a Wincest vid yet? I have a couple of songs, but they've been on my "must vid" playlist forever and I'm having trouble making them work. I'd happily listen any suggestions you guys may have.

I'm planning on re-watching all of the season 2 eps in the next few days so I can jot down all of the viddable scenes. Once I've done that I'll post at least a little blurb about all the eps I missed commenting on. Because even though I haven't been posting, I really and truly HAVE been enjoying the season thus far.

I also really need to post about OTHER shows I've been enjoying this season (mainly HEROES! EEE!) but this post has gotten long enough as it is.


Oh, and I FINALLY uploaded my winchestercon pics! Here they are! They aren't labeled or anything, I'll probably get to that later. And if any of you find any pics of yourself that you want removed from the gallery just let me know and I'll take them offline (but just know there are some pretty darned horrible pics of me in there). I still haven't tackled getting the video from my video camera on to the computer, but perhaps there are some things that would be better off NOT being on the internet ;-)


Now, if you'll excuse me, I have about 3 months worth of spnnewsletter to read... *hyperventilates*

And I'll post a bit later about what the hell has been going on with me in RL, but for now, fandom is MUCH more fun.

Just a really really quick post to say that I'M BACK from winchestercon!

I had an absolute blast and I miss all of my girls already :-(

I need to upload my Wincon premiere vid and I have about 30 people I need to friend. I'll be catching up on the flist tomorrow (because, day off! Woo!) and posting my con report, with pictures, and possibly video if I can figure out how to get it encoded. And if I decide I want people to actually SEE things on the video...like my drunken karaoke performance... *ahem*

I will be posting my thoughts on tonight's episode later once I've watched it a second time, but ZOMG that last scene killed me DEAD! It's like they're looking into the collective brain of all of the fangirls and showing us EXACTLY what we want (so everyone concentrate really hard and maybe we'll get a Dean/Sam bodyswap episode)!!! Every week it just gets better and better!

In other news, I'm (yet again...*sigh*) hopelessly behind on the flist. But...BUT...wait for it...*drum roll*...I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED MY WINCON VID!!! YAY!!! *dances around* Well, OK, I still have a little bit of tweaking to do, but I'm essentially DONE! I am SO happy! And I finished it, like, DAYS before I thought I would, too! Craziness!

Four more days of work and then road-tripping and fangirling and EEEEEEE!!! You guys, I can barely even contain myself I'm so fucking excited. I can't believe Wincon is almost here! This time next week we'll be in NASHVILLE!!! *essplodes*

I'm in an absolutely fantabulous mood today!

Just finished off my six-day work week with an eleven hour shift during which, to my great surprise, I didn't have even ONE sucky customer! In fact I had a disproportionate number of really NICE customers! *boggles*

And now? FOUR DAY WEEKEND, BABY! pumpkin_dude, coincidentally, ALSO wound up with a four day weekend, so YAY!

Also, and this is even BETTER news, not only did I get my shiny-new-not-rejected-by-the-stupid-assed-government passport today(!!!), yesterday my mom called to tell me that my grandparents, for no particular reason other than the fact that they are completely AWESOME, decided to give me FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS to pay for my trip to winchestercon!

I was SO stressed out about not getting my passport in time or not having enough money for the con (especially with my bank screwing me over and work short-shifting me), but now that stress is COMPLETELY lifted and the only thing I have to worry about con-wise is whether or not I'll get my vid done in time! Now I can just look forward to the roadtrip and the fangirling and the AWESOME that will be WINCON!!!


So yeah, my four day weekend will mainly be spent vidding like a mad vidding thing. So if you see me commenting or posting or anything please feel free to say "Why are you not VIDDING, woman?! Go! Vid! Now!"

I am SO frigging happy right now!

Work is moving me to a different contract (again) starting next week, and since it's considered a "tech" contract I get an automatic $2 an hour raise!

$2 more an hour! That means I FINALLY won't be broke all the time!

Not only does this contract pay more, there's much less actual work to be done.

My current contract required 4 weeks of training (which didn't even come close to teaching me everything I need to know to actually do my job), it's busy ALL the time, I always have a TON of work to do mainly because they make us do EVERYTHING (billing, troubleshooting, sales, etc...).

Whereas the new contract requires less than a week of training, there's always at least 10 minutes between calls, and ALL I have to do is very basic troubleshooting for cable and internet. No billing, no sales, JUST troubleshooting.

So essentially I'm going to be getting more money for doing less work...

Um...WOOT!!!

The only real downside is that, at least for now, the only shifts available are afternoon shifts. So I'm going to be working until at least 10 or 11 PM every single night. Which kinda sucks, but for $2 more an hour? I think I'll manage.

OMFG I'M DONE!!!!!!!

The Sam vid that has quite literally taken over my life for the entire month of May is finally FINISHED!!!

I'm still need to upload it, make a banner, type up vid notes and things like that but I should have it posted within the next couple of hours.

Finally got a chance to check the interwebs right before I left work and saw the awesome news! I then proceeded to sit on the bus listening to "The House Rules" with a huge grin on my face :-)
