Round One Winners have been announced at Villainous Imagination Awards and Round Two is now open for submissions.



You guys should all go check out the winning vids, they're freaking fantastic, and made the round really tough to judge (but still TONS of fun). The awards turned out pretty good and I'm really happy with the new Matt Good themed layout (I also changed my LJ layout a few weeks ago as the old one had been up for awhile -- plus Jared = love).

I've been frantically trying to get my Sweet Charity vid done in time, but my muse refused to co-operate until like a week ago. Luckily candygramme is very understanding and is OK with waiting a little bit longer.

Once I'm done that, I'm going to start working on a Dexter vid as I've found the PERFECT song! I'm just itching to get my hands on the DVDs so I can just get it made already!

I got the new Matt Good album and it is fan-freaking-tastic (I'll likely be sharing it with you guys when I get the chance to upload it)! Also, I just bought tickets to see his acoustic show in October! Eeeeeee!

I finished Book 7 of Harry Potter a few days ago (was able to read it at work because being on chats thankfully requires very little actual work) and freaking LOVED it to bits and pieces!

Also went to see Order of the Phoenix last week and really enjoyed it (though the fact that I was watching it in Imax probably helped me to ignore all of the discarded plot points), the 3-D at the end was freaking cool! I just hope they don't keep that effect in when the DVD comes out, otherwise the entire climax of the movie will be pretty much useless for vidding purposes.

In other news, drop what you're doing and go watch wistful_fever's new Harry Potter vid. It's GORGEOUS and deep and haunting and perfect in every single way.

Hands down, the best vid I have ever seen in any fandom ever. I've watched it about 20 times since she posted it on Sunday and I get chills every single time. Really, I cannot stress enough how mind blowingly awesome this video is.

I bought the same brownie mix I've been buying for YEARS (same stuff, just a new design on the package) and I (thankfully) happen to glance at the ingredient list and see a "May contain traces of nuts" warning!

There was never a warning before!!! So does this mean there are only NOW traces of nuts in the brownie mix? Or that there have been traces of nuts in it all along and they just haven't had the warning label?

Fuck fuck fuck. I'm having a major desire for chocolate at the moment (I'm having my period, and trust me, it's gone beyond a simple want to the point where I NEED CHOCOLATE RIGHT NOW OMG!) and now I can't make them because of, you know, the whole anaphylactic shock/death thing. Probably wouldn't be a fun way to kick off the weekend.

Just finished reading "Half Blood Prince" all in one sitting.

General NON-spoilery thoughts:

I had SUCH high expectations going into this book that I was SURE I'd be disapointed. I mean I knew it would be GOOD. It's Harry Potter! It has to be good!

But this book surpassed my expectations SO thoroughly I can hardly put it into words.

This was, undeniably, the best and most satisfying book I have EVER read. I thought nothing could top GoF but this has gone WAY beyond!

For people who haven't read it yet, I know it sounds like I'm overselling it a bit, but seriously, BEST. BOOK. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finished reading it and just sat there for a good 20 minutes trying to catch my breath.

I am in complete awe.

Wow. Just...wow.

OK. I can't sleep. Not at all.

I went to bed and laid there with my eyes wide open for over an hour until I finally decided to get up and do something else.

Not sure what to blame for my sleeplessness. Probably a combination of the 4 Cokes I consumed in the past few hours, and the horrible sick feeling I got from checking my flist before turning the puter off and being ACCIDENTALLY SPOILED FOR HBP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry, I won't repeat the spoiler here, but I'm fucking PISSED OFF right now!

Some little fucker is posting a (supposedly) scanned page from HBP on ALL the HP comms WITHOUT SPOILER CUTTING!!!!

The worst thing is that this spoiler is in the same league as "Kevin Spacey is Kaiser Soze"!!! Meaning that if you know it, it will COMPLETELY RUIN THE STORY FOR YOU!!!

So for the love of all that is holy STAY AWAY FROM THE HARRY POTTER COMMS UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THE BOOK!!!

The comments say it's probably a hoax but some books were leaked and it looks pretty legit to me. Thinking about it for the hour or so I was lying awake in bed it (sadly) makes a horrible sort of sense.
