I found "Big Love" on video on demand the other day and decided to check it out and damn, is it ever GOOD! Also, there's three VM people on it! Lilly, Beaver, AND Mac on another show together? AWESOME! It's surprisingly engaging. I watched all 10 eps in three days. Very cool, I highly recommend it.

Speaking of new shows, I'm bursting with excitement at getting season one of "Battlestar Galactica" tomorrow! I bought the mini-series last weekend and pumpkin_dude and I both totally loved it. *flails*

Anyway, I'm off to watch the second hour of the Amazing Race finale. I kinda hope BJ and Tyler win. I mean, I totally realize they spend like 100% of their time mugging for the cameras, and they think they're way funnier than they actually are a lot of the time, but hey, they're good racers and they seem to genuinely have fun. There aren't many TAR teams who manage to run the whole race without ever getting nasty with each other.

Also have "Lost" on the DVR, don't know if I'll get to it tonight (considering I get up for work in like 6 and a half hours...), but I'm really hoping it was good.

I'm feeling very odd right now, all sick and panicky for no particular reason. I honestly can't tell if I'm feeling sick because I'm panicky or I'm feeling panicky because I'm sick.

I'm in this weird, overly emotional headspace for the past few days, I think a lot of it is because I've been spending entirely too much time by myself. I just don't deal well with being completely in my own head for extended periods of time. pumpkin_dude and I continue to be on completely opposite shifts at work, so I see him less than a half an hour every day. So yeah, that totally fucking sucks. Thankfully we have the long weekend coming up so I can finally spend some actual time with him.


I'm really sorry that I haven't been commenting on your journals in the past little while, I'm going to at least make the attempt to catch up with everything in the next couple of days. Either that or I'll just say "fuck it" and just read the past few days, considering it will take me like 12 solid hours to actually read thru everything that's been posted since last week. I know there are a bunch of comments I haven't responded to and I really need to feedback a few vids and fics. Again, I am sorry. Stupid internet-related guilt.

I annoy myself sometimes. Anytime I'm away from LJ for a few days and I know my flist is at like skip=1000 or more I tend to get intimidated and instead of trying to catch up with my flist while it's still at an even slightly manageable size, I wind up just avoiding it entirely for several more days because it's just too overwhelming. Then it like doubles in size and becomes even MORE unwieldy. Yeah, work taking away my LJ access? Ruining my life. For serious.


The main reason why I haven't been around in the past week and a half is that I suddenly had an insanely strong muse attack last weekend. I haven't had this much of a NEED to make a vid in...well, ever. I mean, it's not the most brilliant or complex vid I've ever done, and weirdly enough it's not even set to one of the six songs on my SPN vid list that I vowed to finish during the hiatus. I just found this song and my muse basically grabbed me by the throat and said "OMG! VID THIS RIGHT THE FUCK NOW!!!"

So yeah, I had hoped to finish it in just a couple of days, but sadly that hasn't been possible. I've been working on it FOREVER and I still have about 1/3rd of it left to go. I kept having timing problems as the song has an uneven beat and for awhile I couldn't quite figure out exactly where to cut and things like that. But I think I've finally got it worked out now, I just need to actually FINISH the fucker. Hopefully it turns out OK. I have this fear that it will wind up being one of those vids that only really makes sense to me. I'm not able to look at it objectively so I really won't know if it will make sense to anyone else until it's already done. I just know that I HAVE to finish it.


Blah, anyway. I'm getting moved to a new contract at work which means four whole weeks of paid training. Four weeks without having to deal with ANY asshat customers! *dances* It almost feels like a frigging vacation. It's boring as hell, but give me boring lessons over screaming fuckwads any day.


And on to some TV related things because I haven't posted about ANY shows in almost two weeks! I'm the worst fangirl ever.

Speaking of new seasons of CW shows...waiting for the 18th to hear if SPN is renewed is giving me a fucking ulcer. Because I know I flat out will not be able to handle it if that show gets canceled. I know it's pretty much a sure thing at this point, but I just can't relax until it's officially renewed.


K, I'm going to shut up now because this is officially the longest, most disjointed post ever.

*hangs head in shame* Yup, I got sucked into watching this show. To be honest, I've never actually WATCHED it before (well, it's not like I've lived under a rock for the past few years, I have caught bits and pieces of past seasons but never actually made it a point to sit down and watch a full episode until now) but I was bored one night a few weeks ago and decided to watch one of the audition eps and before I knew it I was hooked.

*shrugs*

OK, I LOVE Paris Bennett, and I mentioned in a previous post that she could probably win the whole thing, and I still think she might. She has SUCH a fabulous voice, plus she is unbelievably cute, I just want to pinch her cheeks. And she has SUCH an incredible stage presence! Every time she sings I'm just so impressed with her.

But my new favorite is definitely Katharine McPhee. Words cannot express how much I love this girl. Seriously, I have such a crush on her it's not even funny. She's gorgeous and talented and (most importantly) she's a huge dork (as you all know how much I love dorky people). She's just all spazzy and adorable and OMG every time I see her onscreen I just want to make out with her! I love love love love LOVE her! I hope she wins.

Mandisa is also HELLA awesome, I loved how she put Simon in his place about his lame fat jokes while keeping her dignity intact. She also has the best fashion sense I've ever seen in a larger woman. Plus the girl can definitely sing.

For the guys I love Taylor Hicks, he's just so unique and I absolutely love the quality of his voice. I can't wait to see him do a full performance tonight.

And I also like Will Makar. He's kinda in the same category as Paris, unbelievably cute and I want to pinch his cheeks, but also DAMN talented.

God, I'm so ashamed that I let myself get caught up in this show. I mean I still think it's lame as hell and it is TOTALLY contributing to the dumbing down of society, but it's just so deliciously fun to watch, I can't help myself!

The new Supernatural spoilers that mrscutedean found have filled me with a squee so great I may never recover!

On a much more irritating note: WTF, UPN?!

I wait MONTHS for a new Veronica Mars episode only to find that the channel I watch it on is preempting it for fucking BASKETBALL?! Basketball? Really, does anyone give a shit about basketball? I want my fucking SHOW dammit! Over a month of hiatus and the day it comes back they decide to show FUCKING BASKETBALL instead???

*fumes*

Oh, and this is great. This is just perfect. Guess when they're going to be showing the episode. No really, guess. I'll give you a hint, it's the absolute MOST inconvenient time possible (yes, even more inconvenient than VM's usual timeslot against Lost and Bones).

You know when they're showing it? Next TUESDAY AT 9 PM!!! The same goddamned time "Supernatural" is on! WTF, UPN, WTF? I mean, I suppose I can just download the fucker off bittorrent, but that means I won't get to see it until at least Friday. I've been looking forward to watching it tonight for weeks!

Man, I totally didn't want to get sucked into watching American Idol, but I was bored and started watching it last night and I fear I might be hooked.

I'm calling it right now and I just want it on record so if/when it actually happens I can point to this post and say "Look! I was right!":

The girl who sang the Billie Holliday song on last night's show (her name is Paris something--the one with the famous grandmother) is going to win the entire competition! Mark my words. MARK THEM!

Blargh, I have twenty minutes left of work then two days off! Woot! pumpkin_dude and I decided we're going to head down to Cornwall tomorrow to visit tweyelite.
