So yeah, last night's SPN REALLY needs a rewatch before I can post about it.

I herniated a disc in my back (for the second time in 6 months - the original injury hadn't even fully healed yet) so I am on some serious medication at the moment to attempt to quell the excruciating sciatic pain that it's been causing. So I'm currently mildly stoned and very sleepy.

I wish I could say I hurt it doing something cool, but alas, the actual reason is full of lame-itude: I have a cold, I coughed too hard and the disc reherniated. Go me! Gettin' down with my spaz self!

So yeah, I've been in a state of perma-loopiness for the past few days and was dozing off (despite my best efforts to remain conscious!) while watching last night's ep :-( I did enjoy the parts I actually remember, but I'm a tad hazy on the details. LOL.

I refuse to let this get me down though! I have an uber-cracky J2 humor vid I've been half-assedly working on lately and I intend to throw my whole ass into it this weekend, pain or no pain, and get it done in time to submit it for WinCon. Here's hoping I can pull it off *crosses fingers*.

I have a plan, I have the clips, and I also have good drugs and a heating pad! I will prevail!

Besides, I figure being whacked out on pain pills can only HELP when churning out the crack, right?

tweyelite and I were bored one day a couple of months ago and I really wanted an excuse to dust off Sony Vegas, so we decided to each make a vidlets using the same song but different source (hers is here and the source is TSCC). We had intended to do a bunch of these (and maybe we still will at some point cause it was really fun) but got lazy and only did the one ;-)

It barely counts as a vid because it's only 15 seconds long and I threw it together in about an hour (so I guess it's kinda like a vid drabble?), but I figured I'd post it here anyway just for the heck of it:

I have several actual vids on the go right now, in various stages of completion (and dammit, I'm going to finish one soon, for reals) but back in August, after getting home from Vividcon, I made a bunch of mashups of some of my older vids and figured you guys might get a kick out of a couple of them. For those of you who don't know (because, sadly, I didn't know what they were until I went to the mashup party at VVC), a mashup is when you take an existing vid and swap out the audio with a completely different song, hopefully with hilarious results.

So, it goes without saying that I've missed out on a RIDONK amount of stuff in the past few months. I'm going to try to catch up as much as I can by going through spnnewsletter and reading as many journals as I can, but it'll be damn near impossible to catch up on everything I've missed.

So I'm asking, nay, BEGGING for recs so I don't miss anything particularly awesome. Supernatural vids from the past few months, Firefly vids from whenever (because I've FINALLY watched the complete series and the movie and I love it so much ZOMG!), cool vids from any other fandom (because IMHO, a good vid is a good vid), good SPN icons, good SPN fics (gen, Wincest, J-squared, it's all good), interesting meta posts, and anything else noteworthy. Self-recs are totally cool.

I'm going to post a (long overdue) big giant vid rec post really really soon, and I'm going to upload the new Matt Good album in the next couple of days (you guys totally need to hear it, it's awesome).

I'm also absolutely freaking determined to, in the next week or two, finish and post at least ONE of the many vids I've been working on lately.

I've been frantically trying to get my Sweet Charity vid done in time, but my muse refused to co-operate until like a week ago. Luckily candygramme is very understanding and is OK with waiting a little bit longer.

Once I'm done that, I'm going to start working on a Dexter vid as I've found the PERFECT song! I'm just itching to get my hands on the DVDs so I can just get it made already!

I got the new Matt Good album and it is fan-freaking-tastic (I'll likely be sharing it with you guys when I get the chance to upload it)! Also, I just bought tickets to see his acoustic show in October! Eeeeeee!

I finished Book 7 of Harry Potter a few days ago (was able to read it at work because being on chats thankfully requires very little actual work) and freaking LOVED it to bits and pieces!

Also went to see Order of the Phoenix last week and really enjoyed it (though the fact that I was watching it in Imax probably helped me to ignore all of the discarded plot points), the 3-D at the end was freaking cool! I just hope they don't keep that effect in when the DVD comes out, otherwise the entire climax of the movie will be pretty much useless for vidding purposes.

I actually had a conversation with a woman the other day that went like this:

Dumbass: Does my password use small letters or big letters?
Me: They should be lower case.
Dumbass: ...you mean small?
Me: Yes.
Dumbass: ...OK, the letters are small, but the numbers are big. Does that matter?
Me: *shoots self in face*

I also had to explain what the @ symbol was to someone. And when I was finally able to dumb it down enough for her to understand she said: "OH! You mean a capital two!?"

And I swear, if I get one more person who can't figure out where (or even what) the fucking address bar is and insists on typing URLs into Google search I'm going to lose my freaking mind.


But...some good news! I was finally able to communicate to my supervisor just how much the phones are driving me slowly mad, so he put me on CHAT SUPPORT! OMG it's SO much better than phone support it's not even funny! I don't have to make stupid small talk with people, I don't need to pretend to be cheerful, it's mostly a lot of copying and pasting and waiting around for peole to follow instructions.

Plus, it's very neutral and people can't yell at me! Well, I suppose they could CAPSLOCK at me if they really wanted to, but that would just make me laugh at them. Plus, the people who actually use the chat support generally have at least a little bit of technical knowledge and are usually able to follow simple instructions.

I've been doing chat support for two days and already my stress level is lower than it's been in months!

On an unrelated note, I just watched the "Drive" pilot and it was frigging AWESOME (has it even aired in the US yet? I don't think it has, so I won't post anything spoilery yet.)! Now I have a...*counts*...fifth fandom that has hotass brothers in it for me to slash!



I'm so excited, I have pretty much everything all set for my trip to Chicago for vividcon!

I already have my plane ticket, the hotel room is reserved, I have roomies, my vacation has been approved. I just need to get my freaking Club Vivid vid done before May 8th (!!!) so I can start working on my Vividcon premiere vid. *tears out hair*

Alright, so since there's absolutely NO way I'll be able to post anything about tonight's SPN ep without a terrible abuse of CAPSLOCK ZOMG(!!!), I'm gonna save the commentary until after I've had time to rewatch and/or get my flailing at least semi-under control. Because...DAMN!

I can't WAIT to read all the post-ep fics! *flaps with glee*


Though part of me doesn't want the SPN season to ever end, another part of me just wants all of the episodes RIGHT NOW PLZ.

I need a whole BUNCH of stuff from upcoming episodes for like 4 out of the 5 SPN vids I'm currently working on. *sigh* And now we're getting another hiatus. Lovely.

I also really need the damned "Heroes" season to finish because I have a ton of vid ideas for it but just can't bring myself to make any of them yet because every ep ends with a "To Be Continued"!


So in the meantime, and because I'm quite possibly insane, I signed up to make a vid for Club Vivid (it's going to be the first non-SPN vid I've made in a REALLY long time). So that will, hopefully, keep me occupied while waiting for the TV season to end.


Speaking of vividcon, would any of you planning on attending the con be interested in rooming with iseult_variante and me? We'd like to pick up two more roomies to cut down on hotel costs.

Seriously, I loved this episode SO MUCH I can barely stand it! "Tall Tales" and "Born Under a Bad Sign" are pretty much tied right now for my favorite eps of the season.

My vidding muse has returned in full force, but I can't seem to focus on the angst (probably because I keep feeling like I should wait until the season's over to do something mythology based since I'm sure the last few eps of the season will be positively OVERFLOWING with Teh Angst). So lately I've been inspired to work on fun and lighthearted vids (in fact, I'm working on a crazy, frenetic Dean vid right now, which is why I've been a little absent from LJ lately).

K, so that kinda turned into more of a picspam than a review, but whatever, it's all good (I might do a better review later, you know, using actual WORDS, but I might not).

Man, I REALLY need to get vidding. I am just DYING to do a Wincest vid. Because seriously, how have I NOT done a Wincest vid yet? I have a couple of songs, but they've been on my "must vid" playlist forever and I'm having trouble making them work. I'd happily listen any suggestions you guys may have.

I'm planning on re-watching all of the season 2 eps in the next few days so I can jot down all of the viddable scenes. Once I've done that I'll post at least a little blurb about all the eps I missed commenting on. Because even though I haven't been posting, I really and truly HAVE been enjoying the season thus far.

I also really need to post about OTHER shows I've been enjoying this season (mainly HEROES! EEE!) but this post has gotten long enough as it is.


Oh, and I FINALLY uploaded my winchestercon pics! Here they are! They aren't labeled or anything, I'll probably get to that later. And if any of you find any pics of yourself that you want removed from the gallery just let me know and I'll take them offline (but just know there are some pretty darned horrible pics of me in there). I still haven't tackled getting the video from my video camera on to the computer, but perhaps there are some things that would be better off NOT being on the internet ;-)

In other news, I'm (yet again...*sigh*) hopelessly behind on the flist. But...BUT...wait for it...*drum roll*...I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED MY WINCON VID!!! YAY!!! *dances around* Well, OK, I still have a little bit of tweaking to do, but I'm essentially DONE! I am SO happy! And I finished it, like, DAYS before I thought I would, too! Craziness!

Four more days of work and then road-tripping and fangirling and EEEEEEE!!! You guys, I can barely even contain myself I'm so fucking excited. I can't believe Wincon is almost here! This time next week we'll be in NASHVILLE!!! *essplodes*

I'm HOPELESSLY behind on comments and my flist because MY WINCON VID IS EATING MY BRAIN ZOMG!!! Also? Spending over an hour going frame-by-frame through the whole Dean-torture scene from the end of "Devil's Trap" just about broke me.

I was going to watch the premiere of "Veronica Mars" on msn.com today but apparently the content is only viewable in the US. Well fuck you too, MSN! In hindsight it's probably a very good thing that SPN didn't premiere early because I would have been VERY disappointed indeed if I missed out on that.


Have to go to work tomorrow. Blech. I can't believe my weekend is already over and that I didn't finish my goddamned vid yet (I'm telling you, I'm probably still going to be working on this fucker in the car on the way to Wincon!)! Today was the only day I really had to work on it as yesterday I went shopping with my mother for many many hours. Though I did get an uber-cute haircut, spiffy new shoes, and a t-shirt with the words "Bown-Chicka-Bown-Bown" on it, so it's not like it was a complete waste of a day ;-)

Just finished off my six-day work week with an eleven hour shift during which, to my great surprise, I didn't have even ONE sucky customer! In fact I had a disproportionate number of really NICE customers! *boggles*

And now? FOUR DAY WEEKEND, BABY! pumpkin_dude, coincidentally, ALSO wound up with a four day weekend, so YAY!

Also, and this is even BETTER news, not only did I get my shiny-new-not-rejected-by-the-stupid-assed-government passport today(!!!), yesterday my mom called to tell me that my grandparents, for no particular reason other than the fact that they are completely AWESOME, decided to give me FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS to pay for my trip to winchestercon!

I was SO stressed out about not getting my passport in time or not having enough money for the con (especially with my bank screwing me over and work short-shifting me), but now that stress is COMPLETELY lifted and the only thing I have to worry about con-wise is whether or not I'll get my vid done in time! Now I can just look forward to the roadtrip and the fangirling and the AWESOME that will be WINCON!!!


So yeah, my four day weekend will mainly be spent vidding like a mad vidding thing. So if you see me commenting or posting or anything please feel free to say "Why are you not VIDDING, woman?! Go! Vid! Now!"

Anyway, HI!

Spent the past few days marathoning SPN and typing up SEVENTY-FIVE PAGES (!!!) of notes detailing every single viddable scene.

Yeah, I'm insane.

But, I now have a nice reference to look at when I'm outlining my vids so that I can actually, you know, PLAN my vids and not spend countless hours scanning through episodes and wasting valuable editing time. If I ever get around to actually categorizing the scenes and putting the notes into any sort of format that can be read and understood by people other than me I will definitely share it with all of my fellow SPN vidders/graphic makers.

I'm helping estrella30 organize the vidshow for winchestercon (YAY!) so I really REALLY need to get my ass in gear and actually FINISH the vid I hope to premiere at the con (so if I suddenly disappear from LJ for days at a time you'll know why).

It's been discussed to death by everyone in the past few days but since I haven't been on LJ I haven't had a chance to comment on it yet. How frigging awesome are the new SPN promo pics? I mean really.

The pic of Jared and Jensen leaning against the wall while *thisclose* to each other made my panties explode, for serious. They're practically BEGGING us to slash them.

I think I need to make myself a shiny new wallpaper :-)


I really need to post about the SPN DVD extras and my thoughts on some S2 spoilers, but since I know I'll end up typing up a fucking NOVEL about both of these things I think I'll save them for another day.
